I. Colleen is born and subsequently grows up in Leavenworth County (Kansas City Area)
II. Colleen becomes obsessed with film cameras and volleyball and everything connected to it.
III. Colleen decides she is not great enough to get a scholarship in playing Volleyball, or any sport for that matter and decides to give newspaper photography a try. Colleen shoots details of friends and family any time she can. Printing and covering her walls with photos.
IV. Colleen heads to Columbia Missouri to attend the University of Missouri for Photojournalism.
V. Colleen starts a business with her Dad back home called “Lansing Photo Works.”
VI.And finally… Modern day Colleen begins working for the Columbia Missourian spending the days shooting events, and the nights in Ellis Library on the Campus of the University of Missouri.
I would like to say I began making photos when I was really little but I didn’t. I found my passion as a dorky highschooler who was looking for a niche. I have, however, always had a passion for learning something new every day of my life. I’m on the road to success.
